Eyelash lichen...lovingly photographed and presented.
vz-nostalgia: "eyelash lichen"... is that the name, Ray? I have no idea. smile
This is beautiful and well done Viktor!
vz-nostalgia: Couldn't just pass it by, Remi. smile

Strangely attractive, beautifully shot Victor
vz-nostalgia: I was in a hurry to my favorite fishing spot, when I noticed this colony of strangely attractive lichens. I returned the next day with my camera. smile

Aren't lichens supposed to be one of the oldest plant life on the earth? The detail of the world is quite incredible when seen up close like this.
vz-nostalgia: I'm not sure, if they are one of the oldest plant life, Ingrid, but they are one of the most versatile for sure, as they adapt to the most inhospitable places on earth. Just like us. smile
Just one of many forms of life on the planet. This macro shot of it is a first for me.A great image.
vz-nostalgia: Wonder how the profession of studying lichens is called. Lichenologist? smile
strange flower/plant
vz-nostalgia: It sure is, ms. Chantal. There were lots of strange plants in that park in Florida. I had to cross it every day to get to my sea trout fishing spot. smile

It looks more beautiful than it i s in reality! I'm afraid there are some thorns, fangs, and arms which might like to catch us and do pains whilst attracting...- I recall some flesh-eating plants...! A very fine photograph, indeed!-
You surely know the story about the Gordian knot in order to solve and analyse complex problems- but never here, we don't want to destroy these plants, for they are too beautiful!
vz-nostalgia: :
Philine: It looks more beautiful than it i s in reality!
VZ: LOL How do you know, Philine, if you haven't seen it in reality? smile Usually, it's the other way around. The glass eye of the camera is no comparison to the human eye. That's why I rarely shoot landscapes, as it is impossible to catch the beauty of sunsets or wide spaces of nature on camera.
Philine: I recall some flesh-eating plants...!
VZ: Oh, you let you fantasy to run amok, Philine. I'm sure these are harmless plants. As Ray noticed, they even have a feminine touch in them. smile
Philine: we don't want to destroy these plants, for they are too beautiful!
VZ: That's right. As the saying goes, "Take only pictures, leave only footprints". Well, I don't like to leave even my footprints in the places like this. LOL
This is pretty cool. I almost thought it was a mountain with snow and huge trees.
vz-nostalgia: hahaha. A mountain with snow and trees! Wow, Paul. You have a vivid imagination, my friend. smile

hello mr viktor...
excuse that long silence...:o)
you make always so beautiful shots....
your perfect vision of details...
and excuse me again...:o)
vz-nostalgia: Hello Ms. Clo. Welcome back.
1. You don't have to apologize, as you did no harm to anyone by not visiting Nostalgia (well, maybe to yourself, as you deprived yourself of pleasure) smile
2. You broke the First Law of Nostalgia, Ms. Clo, which says: "No Compliments Allowed on Nostalgia". smile
I have a sweatshirt the says "La vie est simple, manger, dormir at boit de la bier"
vz-nostalgia: How could French possibly drop out sex from the formula of life, Bill? smile
stunning shot Victor, couldn't fault that if i sat here thinking about the complexity of life till the most simply of instruments that rules most of it went beep beep, time for worksmile
vz-nostalgia: Night shift, Tim? Even in America they don't lay bricks at night. smile
Lichens composite organisms consisting of a symbiotic association of a fungus (the mycobiont) with a photosynthetic partner (the photobiont or phycobiont). The union is strength but personally I do not like to have symbiotic. Have a nice day Vic
vz-nostalgia: You might not like a symbiotic relationship, Ms. Mela, but that is how the human society works. We are social creatures and rely upon each other in our everyday life. A symbiosis, so to speak. Someone made you shoes and clothes, someone grew you food, someone built the house you live in, and so on. You do your part and provide other people with what you do. By the way, what do you do to contribute to the human symbiosis, Ms. Mela? smile

i imagined the parts we don't see and realized that out of a complexity too complex to be contained, you've simplified the essence of what you saw and communicated it. that to me, is wizardry. hats off, Vik smile
vz-nostalgia: Digesting a small part is always easier, than digesting a whole dish, be it by our stomach or by our brain, Terry. smile

For some reason I am thinking eyelashes. Silly me, it is actually a clam with some sea foam over it.

It could also be a poodle with mascara on the lashes. Or it could be a nice picture from Vic's garden smile
vz-nostalgia: Silly you, Louis. Isn't the age of being excited about eyelashes long gone for you? smile

vz-nostalgia: oh, you messed everything up, putting your words in my mouth, Ms. K.A. smile
KA: maybe what is complex for you is not complex for me and viceversa
VZ: You might have a point here, Ms. KA, though the river has nothing to do with it. smile
KA: anyway your perception of complex is...complex
VZ: you bet it is, though I do my best to make it simple, but not as simple as death. smile
Well I don't know Viktor, I'm not sure about your focusing on this one. My eye is wanting a point of focus and it's roaming round fascinated with the 'eyelashes' but jarred by the spiky out of focus green lichen bits to centre. Complexity of life is therefore probably a choice title.
vz-nostalgia: It's true. I do have problems with my focusing in life as of late, Ms. Pixie. smile Too many things require my attention at the same time. smile
Therefore a choice title... What do you mean by that?
A remarkable compo, pin sharp, great colors and nicely exposured. Well done Viktor.
vz-nostalgia: Oh Ms. Florence, Ms. Florence... Don't you know it is illegal to sing praises on Nostalgia? smile
