Zyrynology: Imagine or If I Had a Magic Wand

...I would line up all five US Supreme Court judges who appointed W as our president. I would look into their eyes and ask each one of them: "How do you sleep nowadays, Mr. Judge, seeing this country in ruins? Did it ever occur to you that you can't trust a button of a nuclear weapon to a person who can't even pronounce "nuclear"?"

And here comes Sarah. She can't spell the word "nuclear" either!

Every time I see that woman I think it must be a joke. Then I think...but they elected George W....TWICE!

Mind you we kept Tony Blair in power for over 10 years. a man so shallow if he was a puddle would evaporate in seconds.

We get the government we deserve, don't we?
vz-nostalgia: I guess we do deserve it, hard to argue about that. Average Joes "six-pack" want someone they can relate to, first this fake "down-to-earth" cowboy, now the winking "youbetcha" girl.
Tony maybe wasn't a shallow puddle, that's true, but he turned himself into a poodle alright. smile Well, at least the man could intelligently talk.

Beautiful image big V.

You pressed a hot button for me with the nuclear or "nucular" thing. The only thing more asinine than a president who can't pronounce it correctly is one who deliberately mis-pronounces it to apeal to the lowest common denominator. The fact that this Kennebunkport blue-blood suppresses his Yale education and fakes a Texas accent because he thinks all of us Americans are morons is only slightly less depressing than knowing ultimately he is right!
vz-nostalgia: For me that button is so hot, Lee, I can barely touch it. smile I guess I have to go back to nature shots to calm myself down.

Don't get me started! "Imagine"...Imagine if someone bailed YOU out, paid YOUR bills as you wallowed in the spa and sipped the nectar of the Gods...IMAGINE! Yes, the question that begs to be asked is Imagine if someone that we've "known" for 5 weeks becomes President (not VP). We need a bit of a reality check here....I say send Gov. Palin to the UK for "Vice Presidential Candidates Questions" (because God knows -we're not asking them here in the US)! ...yes, Imagine...
vz-nostalgia: oh yeah, those Brits. They will show her what the real questions look like. Not the "What newspapers do you read, Sarah?" type of questions (poor Katie Couric, God knows she tried). smile

stop it, you are scaring me now

have you seen this site?
vz-nostalgia: I'm scaring myself just thinking about this possibility, Paul. smile
Yeah, I saw the site. A friend of mine sent it to me yesterday. It took me a moment to figure out that the site is interactive. smile
Better times are coming, or so we all hope.
vz-nostalgia: well, we hoped four years ago, they didn't come. smile Apparently, there is a need for something more than just hope, Ian. That's why this picture is here, to make folks think.
If that woman moved in next door to me I'd leave town!
vz-nostalgia: Like you will have a choice, Chris. If you don't move out, she'll dress you like a moose. smile

Come on, VZ...stop beating about the bush, and tell us what's on your mind, Man!

[Umh...I don't think it was the 5 Supreme Court Judges, but the folks who voted for Dubya] [yerk!]
vz-nostalgia: They did, didn't they, Ray? Twice! In theory Obama should lead McCain like 90:10 now, but look, they're almost even. I'm afraid, Ivan Pavlov's theory of reflexes has a flaw. Those folks don't learn a sh..t.
That's what on my mind, Ray.

How George W got voted in twice, still baffles me to this very day. So when Palin gets touted as a viable candidate because 1. she's an Hockey mum and 2. She's an expert on Russian affairs, because she is governor of Alaska. I for one won't be too surprised if McCain Palin get the vote. But God help us all, if it ever comes to be!!
vz-nostalgia: God help us all. Fotografa. Amen. When so many people are so blind to see beyond the right to bear arms and a ban on abortions... God help us all.
I like all the elements in your picture, and the kind og rainbow feeling I get - my first thought was music but then I started reading your text and.....

I'm glad they don't choose leaders by a spelling contest....just my thought in general, not a contribution to the ongoing never ending story of the election over the pond wink
vz-nostalgia: "I'm glad they don't choose leaders by a spelling contest...."
Oh, I wish they do, Aksel. At least to put a future president, a senator, a congressman through a basic IQ test. Don't you want your country be run by the best of the best? Well, we do too.

From a country who elected Tony Blair twice, only to see us as puppets in a war we should never have become involved with, and a slew of stealth taxes which the blind voters failed to even notice, we can hardly mock the possible US choices....

You've beautifully echoed exactly my sentiments on the matter in this post, Viktor. Send all of your candidates over for a few days with the British media, that will separate the wheat from the chaff!
vz-nostalgia: Well, from time to time I watch the questioning of the Prime Minister by the members of the British Parliament on C-SPAN. Really, a fascinating concept. How I wish we had something even remotely similar to that here in the US.

A great photo - and very thought proving words and comments.

As a Yank recently returned to the US, let me tell you it is much scarier actually being here and living with the mindset that many of my countrywomen (and men) have. At times it is downright embarrassing!

For many of us, hope is what keeps us going.
vz-nostalgia: Embarrasing is a good way to desribe the last eight years of what is going on with this country, Martie. Such a waste of time.
I've been working as a teacher and I'm 40 years old. I have met a lot of people in my relative short life winkwith amazing leader potential and ability to think very complex thoughts even if they have a problem with spelling....Beeing a great leader I guess involvs having the right competence around you, and getting some people around that knows how to spell shouldn't be such a difficult task.... wink
vz-nostalgia: Well, no one argues, Aksel, that being a spelling bee champion is nearly not enough to qualify to be a president, but I don't want to see my president as a "nice suit and nobody in it". Good leadership potentials and think very complex thoughts are good things and might bring one a success in the world of business, but again, it's nearly not enough to qualify for leading the nation. You can't run a country as you run a company.
What do you teach, Aksel?

Viktor, many things are going through my head now, when I see the circus in your country I just shake my head, George W..that idiot, does not even know where the Netherlands are, he said so in an interview and laughed, he is a joke, that Palin is a joke, McCain is a joke, our government is a BIG joke.
Viktor I think it takes much more than one Magic Wand, it are the people with the big mouths that has been for long and it always will be like that...
vz-nostalgia: Well, this country has a historic chance to prove your "big mouth" theory wrong now. I would be very disappointed, if we lose this chance.

I like the way light dialyzed on drops! nice work.
vz-nostalgia: is that all you liked about it, Arash? A dialysis? smile You must be into physics a lot. smile
I have not understood very well what you say in your text… but… it would not have the more felt image the other way around? wink
vz-nostalgia: well, here's what I said, Jose. Hope this helps you to understand the meaning of this picture better.

Wow! Great! VZ! We from here, wished that day 4 of November, gains O' bama!
vz-nostalgia: Let's cross our fingers, Jose.

VZ: You are very sensitive, yes? It must be difficult to post your images, and not be able to accept any opinions that differ from your own. Too bad.
vz-nostalgia: I wonder what made you to think so, Ms. Laura. I'd be glad to accept your opinion, but I don't see it here. smile
poor w. he's turned out to be america's most unloved and unpopular president. great picture by the water, esp the water detail
vz-nostalgia: "by the water"? what would that mean, Ms. Olatoun?
W? I hope I never hear this name again. smile
for clarity .this was what i meant to write
"poor w(bush), he's turned out to be america's miost unloved and unpopular president.
great picture by the way, esp the water detail(in the picture)
