pain indeed VZ, if you were to grab it! I like the association between perfectly "sharp" focus with a very sharp object! this is great, very great. mal
vz-nostalgia: "Very great" from you goes a long way for me, mal. smile

I believe I get the point to this image, VZ.
vz-nostalgia: I believe I just performed a visual acupuncture session on you, Ray. smile
That is a sharp photograph smile
Wonderful detail.
vz-nostalgia: A sharp photograph from a sharp photographer, Mike smile
Agree with Malcolm. Znd I add that the B&W tonality is just great and contrats well balanced. Fine macro photograph.
vz-nostalgia: Delighted, Ms. Flo.

Ouch..that hurts. Hope you didn't get hurt while taking the picture..
vz-nostalgia: Even though the pain is imaginary one, Ms. Richa, it hurts the same as real. smile
Ouch! The detail is tack sharp, to match the subject. Great photograph. (:o)
vz-nostalgia: Handle it with care, Ms. Roz. smile
I love the metaphorical possibilities of this image. Great use of DOF to isolate your subject. That thorn certainly looks capable of causing great pain, real or imaginary.
vz-nostalgia: I knew, the image will apeal to those who like a philosophical aspect in photography. smile Apparently, you are one of those, Ms. Ingrid. smile
The point is that the subtle textures and effective reduced DoF refuse to blunt the quality of this photograph. richard. (er oops!)
vz-nostalgia: That's the level of the linguistic acrobatics the point of which I dream to reach one day, Richard. smile

Ouch !!
vz-nostalgia: Careful, Shakara. Wear thick leather gloves next time you go to Nostalgia. smile
Fabulous detail. From the thumbnail I thought it was a beak.
vz-nostalgia: That's because you watch the migrating geese too much, Ms. Mary. smile

HA! I love the play on words here in comments, Viktor. That's what's so fun about SC. Ditto to it all, because it really is sharp! smile
vz-nostalgia: You're so right, Ms. Ginnie. We're fortunate to have a bunch of great verbal acrobats here at SC. smile

The first feeling I got is the small twist of icing on a cake. As usual the clarity is awesome.
vz-nostalgia: Everyone else got the pain, and you got the small twist of icing on a cake, Sandeep?! smile
Spectacular macro shot. The details and the lighting are great
vz-nostalgia: You're welcome, sir. smile

and the pain i feel is tinged with an appreciation of unadorned beauty. well done VZ !
vz-nostalgia: I might mention your thought about the appreciation of unadorned beauty to my wife next time she buys an expensive lipstick, terry smile
Evolution is a wonderful thing, perfect pin-sharp picture Viktor. Excellent.
vz-nostalgia: I guess you're right, Mike. My bet is that the roses were a favorite lunch meal for deer, and were on a verge of distinction, but then they developed this thorny self-defensive trick. Some ladies manage to do the same, you know. smile
Wow, very well done, I've put my finger on it and...ouch ! It's because the shot is so well done smile
vz-nostalgia: Careful with my pictures, Zeb. Come back for some healing experience. smile
