Zyrynology: The Last Hope of a Fallen Forest
This November it will sprout. I'm sure.

lovely shot
VZ: Hello, Dotun. Long time no see.
Beautiful.....Something so simple yet so complex...
VZ: Like almost anything in nature, dear.
yikes! it looks like a brain
VZ: You're kidding, doc, but you're right. That's where it all starts, in a brain. You know this better than anyone else. So be it, the brain of the forest.
Watch out!
I think that is a hammer descending! I hope it sprouts, VZ, but fear it is looking too much like a seductively packaged snack.
VZ: Oh, I was so afraid of the hammer during his recent trip abroad.
A seductively packaged snack or the real thing, that's all we have, Ray. The alternative is four more years of a self-destruction.
Yes, an old wisdom- life always passes on! Does the (wal)nut really belong to the fallen tree/forest ( I doubt, see ray's comment) ? I always like nuts as 'snack'(good food for brain!) and as symbol! Do you know the following nice saying: "God gives us the nuts, but we have to crack them open ourselves" (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)?
VZ: It's hard for a nut to lead the forest, Philine, when half the trees are clues oaks.
Well I hope it does Vik
VZ: I do too, but I have my doubts, as I see the anti-intellectualism that killed the forest is still well and alive.
My daughter's partner calls walnuts rat's brains. I have a strange family!
Love this shot Viktor. The contrast of colour between the nut and the old wood and the textures...great!
VZ: I would be interested to know what your daughter's partner calls other things in your house, say, you Bill.
This is one of my earlier shots, when I was experimenting with applying a color theory to textures.
I like the lighting on the walnut and the dark wood it's sitting on.
Sorry I would have to eat it if I found it.
VZ: and that's exactly what I did, Aussie, but after snapping a few shots.
I hope that you planted it Z, it won't grow far there, love the light. mal
VZ: I'm doing my best, Mal. It's my forest now.
If I were I wouln't stay too long here...There are some of those greedy squirrels around...
VZ: The time will change, Flo. I hope we'll see those greedy squirrels all in cages.
This is a good still life! I like the uncluttered composition and the gentle browns somehow remind me of Dutch Masters.
VZ: I like being called a Vermeer of photography, Martin.
Thank you for you're visit and comments, I really appreciate it.
Just wanted to tell you that I moved to http://szabozsolt.shutterchance.com/ Btw, impressive collection of talent you got there! Regards
VZ: Welcome to Nostalgia, Szabo. Glad you found it impressive.
I like the different textures
VZ: In this case, Nig, my mission is accomplished. I can move to other things now.
More likely that walnut will end up in someone's Thanksgiving cake in November
VZ: That would a shame, wouldn't it? There would be a field of weeds instead of a mighty forest.
