Zyryality: The Lost Battle
How did it happen that the tough and proud concrete got conquered by the soft and tender leaves? All you need is love?

Oh, Viktor, nothing is lost--those concrete steps are tough and so so sturdy that they have retained their self. They just surrendered to the soft and tender touch of vines and leaves.
VZ: Is it even possible to surrender and retain your own self?
Pity the poor concrete steps...they must rely upon the second-hand resolve of their human creators.
It is "no contest"...these "soft and tender leaves" are the lungs of a powerful creeper that generates its own resolve. Very fine image, VZ.
VZ: I have no pity for the concrete steps, Ray. They allowed to be swallowed and they got what they deserved.
Love and someone to cut away the leaves, but of what use, I think the concrete stairs might feel loved by the leaves....who knows, stranger things has happened in this mad world.....
Love the picture very much, have a nice weekend.
VZ: It seems the monolyth toughness is surely no match to the loving tenderness, Astrid.
Nature 1 Concrete 0....looks good to me!
VZ: Hahaha. I think it took longer than 90 minutes for leaves to score, Bill.
Ah, but the concrete steps will still be there, hard and uncompromising as ever, when the leaves have blown away.
Ingrid
VZ: Only temporarily, Ingrid. Only temporarily. New season comes, the greens are fresh as ever, but the concrete has a few small cracks. The years will pass, the steps will turn into a dust and greens will sing a song of victory.
Love conquers all in this kind of battle, VZ. Nature teaches us not to resist!! And in the end, we loss nothing except what was not meant to be. We gain everything we did not know we already had.
VZ: "We gain everything we did not know we already had". Oh, Ginnie, that's too deep of a thought for my tired mind. You have to explain this to me, when you have a minute.
Lovely thought and a thoughtful pic, but looking at your photo I never would think of the terms 'battle' and 'conquer', for the leaves have fallen down so softly and they now cover and envelop the steps like an oriental (colourful leaves?) carpet, steps and leaves could in this way form a symbiosis, they nestle against each other, perhaps the beginning of falling in 'love'? I don't hope that any workers of the street-cleaning will come and disturb this tender tete- a- tete!
VZ: I love your concept of a co-existance of tough and tender, of strong and weak, Philine. If only this was true in a real life.
Love and persistence wins in the end...
VZ: you might say so, Larry. Ghandy and MLK paid with their lives to prove it.
All you need is camouflage Vik
VZ: to blend with the environment until time comes to strike, Chris?
It shows that the popular opinion is stronger than facts cast in concrete
VZ: Oh, I love this. Demotivators! Hahahaha. Thanks for the link, Louis.
A recent TV programme showed how, if mankind were to disappear, it would take 40 years for bridges to tumble and wolves&wolflike dogs to take over. Nature fights us continuously, and if you want to know who's winning you should see my garden.
VZ: Do you remember the name of this programme, Jamoula? I'd love to see it. Maybe I can find it on the Netflix.
I would love to see your garden to declair the winner in this contest Jamoula vs. Nature. |
