Oh, I completely agree with your fascination evoked by spidernets, and often I have observed them working with energy and persistence, a fascinating pic indeed, only the greenish colours look a bit strange for me, I remind more of brown-sunlighted colours, but the shimmering, glimmering atmosphere you have captured well, and the thunderboltlike lines are well added (by prcessing?). Your introduction -sentences (you write an elegant English style)are inspiring again to think over 'catching'/captive and male-female-relationship. The symbolic character of the spidernet is a well know motive of art and metaphor in all our languages..!

VZ: Spiders are amazing creatures, Philine. How in the world they can produce a material that is stronger, tougher and more flexible than anything else ever invented by humans? The thunderbolt-like lines are not a product of my inventiveness. I can't take credit for that, I'm not that smart. It's a favorite design of this particular type of spiders.

Well I guess it could be 1, as in `the spider beguiles its prey`. But that was not the way I intended the comment to be read. Nor is it 2. My meaning was mostly 3, in that it distracts the attention and focuses and holds it (as if with some sort of magical spell) on this mesmerizing image.
