My Peachtree Street: A Stolen Moment

What a nice day it was. I was sitting on a curb near a flower bed digesting a Chick-fil-A sandwich when I noticed my colleague from the office approaching at a fast pace. I put a huge smile on my face and made a friendly hand gesture. But… the guy looked through me and kept going.  With a stupid smile frozen from ear to ear, I watched his long dreadlocks smack his back in the rhythm of the day.

I checked around with my peripheral vision if anybody noticed this smile of an idiot and bowed my head to my knees in shame and confusion.

When I raised my eyes, something  happened in the sky. I whispered a short prayer of thanks and pushed the shutter button. Was it a payoff for my humiliation or did I steal a moment from the Supreme himself?
