If fallen leaves
could stay a bit longer
hanging from trees
as a lover's dreams
while their green turn
to yellowish forms
every time one fall
a dream is gone...

k.a. (I see autumn has arrived there)
vz-nostalgia: ...and then, when winter comes, all you could see is dreamless trees...

Ah...collaborative poetry...

Cold days already have arrived
The flocks of geese stitch fabrics of the sky
With their wedged Squadrons.

"South...to the South"
"GPS be damned", they honk
"Genes require no Li-Ion slabs
And we travel light."

"Alas" whimper the fallen leaves
"our coding....

[take it away, Vz!]
vz-nostalgia: hahaha... Brilliant, Ray. Just brilliant. smile
I will let someone else to chip in. That wouldn't be fair, if you and I keep going at that pace. smile I'm sure there are brave souls among Nostalgia viewers, who would be glad to take away from where you stopped. smile
I like the angle and colours in this shot Victor.... i am staying out of the poetry trap....have a nice flight south....petersmile
vz-nostalgia: Poetry is not a trap, Peter. It's a door into the world of delightful madness. Don't be afraid to turn the knob. smile

... standing there naked
in the eye.
Just now gloried
in autumn's ball gown;
lost,
in one ecstatic shiver.
vz-nostalgia: smile quoting myself: "Ginkgo trees in autumn have no shame. In the morning, they greet you in all their glory, showing off their elegant yellow dresses. You pass them by the same evening and here they are, all naked, with their splendid dresses dropped at their feet in a perfect circle, awaiting to be touched by an impassioned lover."

[Thanks to Louis for the end piece]
vz-nostalgia: "ecstatic shiver" is a great line. He wrote it in teh morning. Wonder what he had for breakfast. I want it too. smile

Une superbe image Mr Viktor...C'est une evocation tres poetique du temps qui passe...
Et j'adore les feuilles dorées des Ginko...
Je vous souhaite un bel automne..smile

Clo: Mr Viktor superb image ... It is a poetic evocation of time passing ...
VZ: When we step into the river of poetry (well, sometimes, it's just a creek smile), the perception of everything changes, Ms. Clo. smile

Clo: And I love the golden leaves of Ginko ...
VZ: Leaves of Ginko are beautiful as no other: their intense color palette, their rich texture, unusual shape...

Clo: I wish you a beautiful autumn...
VZ: Can't wait, Ms. Clo. We've been under an incredible stretch of heat since late spring with almost no break.

The weeping leaves
Of the sleeping tree
Now naked of her dress
Dreams of seasons
And natures tests
when she can adorn herself
With jewels again
To simply look her best. smile
vz-nostalgia: Why can't humans do the same, Ms. Linda? Say, shed off our old wrinkled skin and grow new silky smooth one. smile

So sad, the beautiful moment left for only one to enjoy, no one to share it with. Alas, there is only one side of the bench that was sat upon and only for a short while until the loneliness was unbearable...
vz-nostalgia: Who would ever guess there was a poet sleeping in Richard all this time, and no one knew. smile

Tumbling autumn
midnight blue, golden ginko
flipped over, slant, fall

Love the imagery, Viktor. Already dreaming about cooler temps and the sound those leaves make when you walk through them!
vz-nostalgia: ah, can't wait till the temperature drops to a livable level, Ms. Mama, so I could resume my lunch walks once again. With the camera, of course. smile
A likey for me Viktor.
vz-nostalgia: I guess I did something right this time, as I believe this is your first Nostalgia likey, Ms. Jacqui. smile
Actually Viktor... I find a lot of your pix stunning... but I always hesitate to comment after reading your -about- section where you say, "So, the First Law of Nostalgia shall read: "No praises on Nostalgia, please."
... So I tried a likey instead... : ) Cheers!!
vz-nostalgia: Yes, what I wrote on my About page turns off (or even pisses off) a lot of folks. It is much easier to write praises rather than to step beyond and share a real thought (though, I understand sometimes no words can describe our emotions). But damn praises flooded shutter and spread like weeds, so someone had to stand up and say:”Enough of that crap.” smile
But don’t be intimidated, Ms. Jacquelyn. Let’s do this. You will share with me your first thought upon opening Nostalgia next Friday without analyzing composition, color (or the lack of it) or any other technicality. Just listen to your soul. It could be just one word. (But not “wow” smile).

the colours, the angle, the focus, all brilliant.

I'd love to join in the collaborative poetry but I'm lost for words
vz-nostalgia: Matt... Lost for words... Yeah right. It's an oxymoron. It just can't be. smile And I will never believe it. smile
This a fantastic image Viktor. The colours are vibrant and the composition unusual. Love it
vz-nostalgia: Now that you like it so much, Ms. Pam, would you like to have a seat for a little chat? I'll be there in a minute. smile What would you like to talk about?

still here
stood while time plays its part
still here
I watch each throw of natures dice
still here
I remain today my brilliant past
still here
to give one last relentless fight

Purple passion - all things must pass.
vz-nostalgia: I always thought that the color of passion is red, smile and melancholy and nostalgia are often colored in purple. Despite, things of all colors pass. :=)

vz-nostalgia: Gee... haven't seen you on Nostalgia for ages, Michael.
Is the two-week long summer already over in your part of Canada? smile
This is a great picture. I love the angle, and the color.
