If you are a flower
I am the bee...
vz-nostalgia: In this case, I have no choice but to become a beekeeper, Ray. smile

... and under your care
she will flourish... smile
vz-nostalgia: ...enveloped by his thoughts about her. Fragile. Trembling with tenderness and passion...
Who wouldn't flourish in such an environment, Ms. Iris? smile

Deceptive ant: he's hiding his billions of friends
vz-nostalgia: ...or, maybe, he's hiding FROM his billions of friends under the aroma of teh flower. smile

From the thumbnail I was sure the picture would be called "The Persistence of Memory" after the Dali painting in MoMA. The ant being a symbol of death and decay (amongst other things).

I like the combination of the hard edged ant and the soft foliage, and of course the strong composition.

VZ: Ah, why would I steal from the old charlatan-genius (or genius-charlatan, if you will), Mike? smile
BTW, a huge exhibition of him has just finished at the High Museum of Art here in Atlanta. It was lots of fun. Took me three visits to go through. There were a lot of photographs displayed by Philippe Halsman, which I liked better than many of Dali's paintings. smile

Trust Mike to bring it back to death and decay! I always thought the ant was a symbol of hard work. The delicate colours are beautiful and the ant, of course, perfectly placed.
vz-nostalgia: Placed? smile I had no control of teh ant, Ingrid. smile Even though, the ant has teh largest brain to body ratio in teh animal kingdom (including humans), no one has ever managed to train it to stay still. smile
The Ant
by Ogden Nash

The ant has made himself illustrious
Through constant industry industrious.
So what?
Would you be calm and placid
If you were full of formic acid?

Well I am a fan of Mr Nash.

Like the picture Viktor. You don't often see solitary ants

Very strong composition....I must say though, I am deathly afraid of ants and this ant is downright scary to me.

vz-nostalgia: The ants are usually too busy with their own business to pay attention to us, Tomekha, unless we intrude into their territory. smile Do you know how many ants are in the world? One quadrillion! And a quadrillion is a 1 with 15 zeros behind it. smile They rule the world, not we. smile

That particular little gardener would offer a stinging proposition, if u troubled her assets...
vz-nostalgia: smile He who doesn't risk never gets to drink champagne, Sean. smile
If the flower does not want the attention of the gardener then she should remove the scent trail and sprinkle cinnamon to be left looking gorgeous. smile
vz-nostalgia: What flower doesn't want the attention of the gardener, Ms. Linda? I know none. Well, maybe, with the exception of militans feminists like Valerie Solanas, who shot Andy Warhol. smile

Wonderful detail in this; the flower must seem like a whole world to this little thing.

I can't see the flower! This gardener must be blind and the ant completely lost.. smile smile smile
vz-nostalgia: Oh my... You don't see the flower. Now, who's blind here, you or the gardener, Ms. Eve? smile

I think that this is a splendid macro Victor...the crisp detail of the ant against the feathered edge of the flower....well done....petersmile
vz-nostalgia: Contrasts are teh spices of life, Peter. The trick is not to overdo. smile
oh wow! a quadrillion ants...they could just rise up and take over the world if they wanted to! LOL
vz-nostalgia: Hope they won't find the way to grow in size. smile
Have you seen the classic horror movie from 1950s "Them"?

Shades - this hasn't happened before. Let me try the full verse:

If I were a carpenter
and you were a lady
would you marry me anyway?
would you have my baby?

sung by Johnny Cash amongst others, written by Tim Hardin.

Your:
...if you are a flower
I am the gardener...

sort of reminded of the song. Like the gardener can look after the flower as if in marriage smile
vz-nostalgia: Gee... Now I get it. smile I have an exuse, though, I'm not a Johnny Cash fan per se, or country music in general. smile Somehow, I missed hearing all other versions of this song. smile
You're in fine shape, Louis. Don't worry. smile
