...or the art of maintaining their collective strength by balancing their mutual interaction smile
vz-nostalgia: is that how the joy of lovemaking called nowadays, Ms. Iris? smile

She done 'im in...

Could there be any justification for this terminal act...
vz-nostalgia: Being overwhelmed by pleasure... so much so your heart stops beating. I can't think of a better way to die, Ray. smile

les couleurs sont magnifiques !
vz-nostalgia: It took this pair of nails a lifetime to get those colors, rem la. smile
I really like this a lot. The composition with its' diagonals, the colour and texture and all that, but really I just look at it and say to myself...love it!
vz-nostalgia: Love at first sight... hah? smile And I thought it doesn't exist in real life, only in poetry. smile

That cross says no entry Vik
vz-nostalgia: Could be, Chris. No entry for anyone else, but these two. smile
Without looking at the title, my immediate reaction was that this has religious connotations.

After reading the title, my mind immediately connected to Walter Sickert.....why is my mind so dark this morning?

http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/sickert.htm
vz-nostalgia: Ah... I've never heard of Sickert. And I thought I know impressionists really well. smile Silly me. I enjoyed flipping through his paintings, especially his portraits, especially the nudes.
Regarding religious connotations... you're maybe not that far off, Ms. Roz. smile Oftentimes, an erotic experience blends into a religious one, becoming mystic and divine. smile And vice versa. smile

Does bring the work of Angela Carter to mind ...

...wonderful colour.
vz-nostalgia: I've never heard of Angela Carter, Mike. If you recommend one thing to read from her, what would it be?
I thought she's a painter, and was going to say: "Gee... I thought by now anyone could say, looking at this pair of rusty nails: "Oh, that's VZ's bullshit". smile
It looks like you need a special pass to get through the barrier to The Red Bedchamber! smile
vz-nostalgia: You bet, Ms. Linda. You have to pass an oral exam first to get in. smile
locked and sealed.somebody means serious business
vz-nostalgia: Nah. One can make it as serious as one wants, or one can stay on the playful side of things. smile It's up to you, Ms. Toun. smile
So you bent the nails, painted the timber and let the paint dry while the light got better before taking the photo?
vz-nostalgia: The best thing was watching paint dry, Pekka. smile

The red colour is ominous. Keep your nails crossed and pray for him. She seems in a bad mood.

... or is it some new fangled chastity belt, put on without reading the instructions?
vz-nostalgia: smile
Louis: The red colour is ominous.
VZ: You think? I always thought it's stimulating. At least, that's what they taught us at school in teh color theory class. smile

Louis: ...or is it some new fangled chastity belt, put on without reading the instructions?
VZ: Real men never read instructions, Louis. Can't say the same about women, though. smile
your rusted shots look so well that I believe that are fresh rusted smile
vz-nostalgia: the beauty of things aged, Ms. Delia. Aesthetics of imperfection. smile
Good framing of detail
vz-nostalgia: I'm a good framer, Graeme. My father was a carpenter. smile
glorious richness and textures
vz-nostalgia: like having a cup of good hot chocolate in cold weather, Harry? smile
Great photo!
vz-nostalgia: Out of all teh Nostalgia archive you picked this one to comment, Femi. What have you found so appealing to you here?
I'm not sure how to articulate my reasons but it evoked an emotional response from me. The content is something ordinary but the effect is very visceral. Do you set up these shots or are these found objects?
vz-nostalgia: All photographs in teh Nu Aesthetics series are found and photographed as is, though I think it doesn't really matter much, as long as the picture evokes an emotional response in viewers, don't you think?

As soon as I see/hear the name Femi, I immediately recall the concert of Femi Kuti I saw last year here in Atlanta. Oh my, he's a real powerhouse. No one remained in their seats three minutes after the start of teh concert. And his dancing girls... oh my... oh my... smile
i looooveeeee this one.
vz-nostalgia: smile What brought you here into the depth of Nostalgia, Syaiful? Haven't heard from you for so long. Drop me a line, tell me how things are in your neck of teh woods.
