Zyryality: Subjectivity of Reality

Ms. Eight: “Oh, my Kingdom of Delightful Madness is so different from yours”.

Mr. One: “I’m sure, it is. I have no doubt about that”.

Ms. Eight: “Don’t put your words into my mouth. You always do”.

Mr. One: “Not really, dear. I just express my own thoughts”.

Ms. Eight: “You are always trying to assert your own views onto my mind”.

Mr. One: “Oh dear... you truly are too much”.

Ms. Eight: "...and you don't respect my choices, unless they look like yours".

With that, he unscrewed the screw out of his head and hung himself. Too bad. He liked her very much.

She was 18 with him, and now she's only eight.

oh mr VZ...your imagination is so great that you can even make numbers talk...or they really did? wink

anyway..it could have been worse...she could have been 81 with him...

sometimes better alone than with an '8'

great picture! Suberb dialogue!!
vz-nostalgia: smile
KA: anyway..it could have been worse...she could have been 81 with him...
VZ: 18 or 81... teh end result will be the same, Ms. KA: she'll be reduced to 8. smile

From 18 to 8 in two simple movements
vz-nostalgia: At times it takes just one, Chris. smile One simple movement and you're out. smile

Ms. Eight: "You think you can get away from me that easily?"

So she unscrews herself and hangs herself as well...

"See you in hell until 81! You bastard!"

(That tone sounds awfully familiar...like my wife, actually... smile)
vz-nostalgia: smile Brilliant take on turning teh story upside down, Ti. smile

Ti: That tone sounds awfully familiar...like my wife, actually...
VZ: Hope the screwdriver is not that far away, Ti. smile

and 18 + IV is 22
yet 8 + IV is 12
with 1 descending

into
IV
vz-nostalgia: You must took a serious logic course back in college, Patrick. smile A subject that someone once called "the tool for distinguishing between the true and the false".
You must play eye-spy constantly to find all of these beautiful oddities. smile
vz-nostalgia: No playing here, just spying, Ms. Julie. smile But seriously, no special effort. Apparently, I was born this way. smile

it is an evocative image, I like it very much.

Just appreciation, no words to add.

vz-nostalgia: smile It's okay, Mal. Maybe next time you'll come up with words. smile You usually do. smile

Now that you have fooled us all, you can flip the picture back in the vertical and then the horisontal. 81 will be rescued from suicidal tendencies.

Lovely story construed in the zyryality.
vz-nostalgia: smile That's why it's zyryality, Louis. You can flip everything any way you want and rescue anyone you like. smile
You have some imagination, Viktor. I would have looked at that an thought, `that need fixing`. (:o)
vz-nostalgia: Are you the handyman in your household, Ms. Roz? smile Well, handywoman will be a better word to use, I guess. smile
I'll go with Mal's sentiments. I like the tones of the picture, very much
vz-nostalgia: I'd prefer for folks to go with their own sentiments, Ms. Wilkins, but I guess it's okay to go with someone else's just one time. smile

Cultural frictions can be a challenge, but suicide seems an extreme remedy.
vz-nostalgia: smile How about cultural suicide, Ray? smile

The One is often so proud, proudly erected, but as we say "Hochmut kommt vor cden Fall"/Pride goes before a fall! Mrs. Eight with her lovely round forms is a more well-balanced person resting in herself, not interested in permanent self- performance like Mr. One! I agree with you: One is rather male, Eight more female- abut as we know we own as male as female sides in ourselves, are therefore rather 18! 17 is a sweet number as we say in German, but when being 18 we are finally adults, at least officially- legally, not really!
vz-nostalgia: smile
Philine: Mrs. Eight with her lovely round forms is a more well-balanced person resting in herself, not interested in permanent self- performance like Mr. One!
VZ: How quickly you came to judgement of their characters based on their physical shape, Ms. Philine. That's a very slippery path you took. smile
I like the textures and the tones.
vz-nostalgia: I see it doesn't take much to make you happy, Nig. smile

vz-nostalgia: "...a change of perspective..." smile When one hangs upside down, that's a change of perspective alright. smile
On other hand, there is a grain of truth in what you said, Ms. Dori. At times, people are just not compatible, and nothing can fix that except for to "unscrewing" yourself from the relationship. smile
8 or 18 ? Depends what it is, days, months, years of joy or pain, money, prison.....
vz-nostalgia: I think you dig in teh wrong direction, Ms. Mela. smile Though, who knows... Keep digging. Maybe you will strike gold here. smile

Yes, there is a "grain of truth" (we know the same phrase!) in what you said, Mr. VZ! I will be cautious in order not to fall onto my nose (as we say) and not to get disappointed in my judgements..., I should have already learnt that, but we live and learn!
vz-nostalgia: smile Only those don't make mistakes who do nothing, Ms. Philine. smile

VZ: "...a change of perspective..." When one hangs upside down, that's a change of perspective alright.
Dori: It took me a while to realize the in/of switch. smile
But it was puzzling why you would quote it like that, so I kept looking and, finally, saw it. I guess I am more inclined to see the thoughts behind the words. And as glad as I am to learn the correct expression, now I can't help but think that a change in perspective comes from within. I like that thought. Thoughts are wonderful things, n'est pas?

VZ: On other hand, there is a grain of truth in what you said, Ms. Dori. At times, people are just not compatible, and nothing can fix that but "unscrewing" yourself.
Dori: I'm not set to find the truth, Viktor. Like everybody else, I am just expressing what makes sense to me. smile
vz-nostalgia: :
Dori: Thoughts are wonderful things, n'est pas?
VZ: Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore I am. smile Don't remember who said this, but I like it.

Dori: I am just expressing what makes sense to me.
VZ: You would not believe how glad I am that you do exactly that, Ms. Dori. smile

This is my first visit VZ and this is a nice shot..... i like the treatment.....good DOF and you wrote up a great dialog.....petersmile
vz-nostalgia: smile Hope it will not be your last one, Peter. smile
Is there such a thing as bad DOF, I wonder. smile
"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured." K.V. Hocus Pocus
vz-nostalgia: Who would ever guess that I find another Kurt Vonnegut fan here. smile
If I had a chance to reply to Mr. Vonnegut, I'd say: "Some call it loneliness and suffer, while others look at it as solitude and enjoy it". smile
wow, the poem and the photograph work so wonderfully together.

i wonder, must all kingdoms of delightful madnesses be solitary?

being forever 8 isn't bad, even if i always wanted to be older.
vz-nostalgia: smile
Sera: wow, the poem and the photograph work so wonderfully together.
VZ: That's a default I assigned to Nostalgia, Ms. Sera. smile

Sera: i wonder, must all kingdoms of delightful madnesses be solitary?
VZ: What made you to think that mine is teh solitary one?

Sera: being forever 8 isn't bad, even if i always wanted to be older.
VZ: The paradox of life, Ms. Sera. When we're young we try to look older. When we're old we do everything we can to look younger. smile

That's why it pays to have separate interests - he should have taken up woodwork or some other useful pasttime!
vz-nostalgia: smile ...and she? Should she have taken up crocheting? That would be a perfect pair. They'd spend their dinners in total silence. smile
well... i thought solitary because "my kingdom of delightful madness is so different from yours."
people who are together for a long time tend to evolve a common madness.
vz-nostalgia: smile Can't deny you the logical skills, Ms. Sera. smile Even though they lead you in the wrong direction. smile

that's the story of my life: no matter which way I go, it is the wrong direction for something.
but at least i hav a direction.
vz-nostalgia: Midnight. Dark and quiet in the kitchen. Suddenly, everything around is illuminated by a bright light. “Ah… What happened… I got to run…” He panicked and started running through the kitchen floor. He made it to the middle of the room, when a big foot in a sleeper interrupted his run. “…but at least I had a direction” were the last words of the squashed cockroach. smile
haha i am blessed to live in a place where cockaroaches aren't too much of a problem. i have seen some huge, beautiful ones (in a scary way) in hawaii. i have never knowingly stepped on one.
vz-nostalgia: oh gee... I wasn't talking about the cockroaches per se, Ms. Sera. smile
