Tales From My Garden: Bridge of No Return

…across the river of

                               no return

I built a bridge into my kingdom

untie the wings of your desires and

                                                      follow me

I’ll take you to the land of the delightful madness…

...when the point of no return has passed
when your kingdom lures with all its vast
and illimitable pleasures
her wings will spread and learn to fly
and she will be forever thy
unbridled princess of delightful madness...
vz-nostalgia: :
...a princess of delightful madness
she soars the heights she’s never dreamed of soaring
her wings get stronger after every flight
she fills the nightly air with a song of songs
a song of mad desires...

You naughty boy...

In the slow unfolding of her wings
she crossed the bridge you made for her.
In the madness of fulfilled desires,
she found a delirium, scorching and tender,
a benediction, destined and true...
vz-nostalgia: She’s been waiting for the call to cross the bridge into the Kingdom of Delightful Madness all her life. She just didn’t know it. smile
Wonderful shot. Wonderful processing.
vz-nostalgia: Was teh adjective "wonderful" on "buy one get one free" sale, Mike? smile

The highway looks smooth, bright & exciting Vik - but look at those serrations if you deviate...
vz-nostalgia: If you feel you deviate, it's time to call a designated driver, Chris. smile

There are so many poets, alas I'm not one of them. But I do like the image. The dof and processing suit the image beutifully.
vz-nostalgia: One doesn't have to be a poet to like poetry, Ms. Aussie. smile
There are so many poets, but very few good poems. smile
Hmmm, you have to be prepared to give up everything to reach this `point of no return`....a high price, indeed. (:o)
vz-nostalgia: But your return for the price you pay could be tenfold, Ms. Roz. smile As Russians say: "Those who don't risk don't drink champagne." smile

Have a good weekend MR Viktor...
Maybe return makes goodbye forget...
see you..:o)
vz-nostalgia: Of course, you forget everyting teh minute you cross the bridge, Ms. Clo. The King of Delightful Madness takes your memory away. On teh other side of the bridge you exist only in Presence, Ms. Clo. smile
A razor edge...
Makes you wary...
To tread in the land
of desires unleashing,
Fluttering of wings,
Or is it trembling,
Unsure of the kingdom,
That lays within...smile
vz-nostalgia: :
First steps along the bridge are not always effortless and easy
The butterflies will flatter their fragile wings inside your stomach
Your legs will feel as if they have been cast out of lead…
That’s why you need to close your eyes and hold his hand,
And let it go with the flow of your heart, not mind, Ms. Linda. smile

just know that once she flies, you'll never keep her.
vz-nostalgia: Tell this to the Moon that orbits Earth, Ms. Erika. Tell this to Earth that orbits teh Sun. smile Why do you think they do not fly away? smile Yep. I don't need to keep her: she won't fly away. smile

Another delicate and refined photograph- the leaf/plant looks like silver glittering in the sun and forming a bridge leading into the infinity - but there is not any feel of danger despite your words "Bridge of No Return" and 'of no arrival'- I can follow your words and I hope to land in the never- never- land or camelot or on the Elysian fields or in Lyonesse which I saw playing in different colours under the surface of the Atlantic ocean near Land's End/England...- I like your poetic text-picture- posting!

Your title may recall a short story written by Franz Kafka,The Bridge -but it another -rather cruel- sad- surreal story...
vz-nostalgia: :
Philine: ...but there is not any feel of danger despite your words "Bridge of No Return"...
VZ: "No Return" doesn't always speaks of danger, Ms. Philine. In rare, but special moments it speaks of liberation, of leaving all your worries far behind, while you step into teh unknown. It is only true, when you can trust the one that leads you, though.

Philine: I like your poetic text-picture- posting!
VZ: Ms. Roz once called Nostalgia "poetography". smile I like that, as it's exactly what this is. smile

Yes, let's leave Kafka for some other time. smile
It looks almost like a draughtsman's model for a suspension bridge.

You do excellent mono work Viktor.
vz-nostalgia: :
Ellie: You do excellent mono work Viktor.
VZ: Oh... I hope you're not saying that my color work sucks, Ms Ellie. smile
Like a bridge,we can interpret this picture of different ways, belle image. A+ VAL smile
vz-nostalgia: Be my guest, Ms. Valerie. I'd like to hear your interpretation of this picture. smile

Many may want to take that leap into the unknown, but few ever do.
vz-nostalgia: Most folks get attached to the routine, Ms. Vicky. The daily rituals bring a sense of comfort into our lives. That's why Obama's changes have so much resistance among so many folks. A fear of real change is very strong. Change requires effort on our part, but we better lose the taste of life, than to be bothered. smile
a delightful madness indeed Victorsmile all the best m8smile
vz-nostalgia: we can't have ALL teh best, Tim. Otherwise, someone else will get ALL "the worst". smile

(I'm back once again Mr. VZ!)
vz-nostalgia: So, your wings are ready, Ms. Reis? Good. Grilled or a "buffalo" style? Ah, doesn't matter. I'll bring a bottle of good wine and something from Antonio Carlos Jobim. smile

So, you're back. I think I've heard this before. smile Each time it doesn't last that long. smile

Ponte dei Sospiri.

I guess from your little poem that the sighs will be more joyful than those who crossed the bridge in Venice.
vz-nostalgia: Yep. Only few are chosen to cross teh bridge, Louis. So, the Bridge of Sighs is about right. smile
