Tales From My Garden: The Offerring Of A Moonchild

 (a tribute to King Crimson)

...she's a moonchild

dancing on the island through the meadows

holding her white dress with trembling fingers

asking for the moon to shine the pathway

to the Garden of Nostalgia after midnight

praying to the ghost of dawn to take her offer

she’s a moonchild...

A few tears shed...
Perhaps the offer was mis-understood...
Now the dress is red...
vz-nostalgia: When a picture turns an old cynic into a poet... Geez, I'm doing something right, then. smile

drifting on a gentle wave of wishes
that takes her everywhere she wants
waiting for the king of dawn
to bath her in his crimson red
lovely moonchild... smile
vz-nostalgia: “Was she dancing in the shadows of the river?
Was she dreaming in the shadow of the willow?
Was she sleeping on the steps of a fountain?
Was she waiting for the sun on the mountain?”
“Oh, yes”, soever quietly she said
and the King of Dawn bathed her in his crimson red.

after having read Ray, I am at loss for words. Laughing and thinking doesn't go together for me. The hidden side of Ray - poetry grin
vz-nostalgia: Waking up a poet in Ray is not an easy task, Louis, but it was worth it. smile
There is a balletic quality to this Viktor. I will resist any temptation to burst into verse
vz-nostalgia: smile
Bill: I will resist any temptation to burst into verse.
VZ: You are a smart man, Bill. Who knows where would you end up with your verses. Better be silent than sorry. smile

A sad picture Vik: her dress is torn and her tears flow down...
vz-nostalgia: smile Let's take a look from a different perspective, Chris:
...her dress is torn
in ecstasy of pleasure
her tears are those
of joy and of delight... smile
I see a young girl`s transition to womanhood, and it make me feel strangely sad. Nothing will ever be the same again. (:o(
vz-nostalgia: smile You bet, Ms. Roz. Nothing will ever be the same again, as she's about to start her long journey through the Garden of Earthly Delights. smile I see no reason for sadness now. Do you? smile

I spy a river of tears there, such sadness
vz-nostalgia: Yep, a river... but how about a river of tears of ecstatic happiness and pleasure, Ms. Scarlet? smile There are two types of tears, don't you forget. smile
Wow, lovely!!
vz-nostalgia: Saying "wow" is against teh law on Nostalgia, Ms. Marion. Same goes for "lovely". Be careful next time. smile
...She is the moonchild
Finding her way
Dancing the path
To the garden of Nostalgia
...She is the dawn mist.smile
vz-nostalgia: …she’s a dawn mist
she comes alive at midnight, gathering the flowers
in the garden of nostalgia for the king of dawn
with the arrival of the child of sun
she disappears, for she’s a dawn mist…

I'm reminded of Vernon's Moonchild series, talking of which I met up with him last week while he was in the UK.

her white dress was torn by a thorn which pierced the flesh, her tears and blood ran heavy till the break of dawn.

mal
vz-nostalgia: Must tell that Vernon's photography matured immensely since that photo session with his daughter three years ago, Mal.

"...and blood ran heavy till the break of dawn". You gave me no choice, but to find her bled to death in teh garden of nostagia at the break of dawn, Mal. smile Too damn sad. smile

vz-nostalgia: We all are children deep inside, YKW. smile

bleeding dress
dancing in the moonlight
tears of joy
asking more and more...
moonchild
looking for a sunchild
tears of joy
asking more and more...(k.a.)

at the beginning I thought you had been listening to Ironmaden's album but later I realised you were listening to Crimsom instead, weren't you?

...maybe that moonchild just got blushed and started sweating as you were too closed to her when you shot...
vz-nostalgia: :
KA: tears of joy
asking more and more...
VZ: You got it, Ms. KA. Now we're getting somewhere. smile

KA: ...you were listening to Crimsom instead, weren't you?
VZ: I've been listening to King Crimson since I was 17-18, Ms. KA. smile

KA: ...maybe that moonchild just got blushed and started sweating...
VZ: Are you hinting she's menopausal, Ms. KA? smile

You have listen too often to Strawinsky's "Sacre du Printemps"! - no offer! no blood! Pure pleasure of dancing in the rain and in the wind, enjoying the freshness and the beauty of colours -red and green - and looking up to the moon while whispering some secret wishes... and they all may get fulfilled!
A really beautiful photo of a leaf - I don't need any symbolism and poetry here in order to be delighted!
vz-nostalgia: :
Philine: You have listen too often to Strawinsky's "Sacre du Printemps"! - no offer! no blood!
VZ: My mind is open to all of it, Philine. There is a place there for Stravinsky, as well as for a seductive trumpet of Miles Davis, complexity of music of King Crimson or for a light-hearted erotism of Brazilian bossa nova.

Philine: I don't need any symbolism and poetry here.
VZ: smile Ah, as I've already told you once, Philine, reading here on Nostalgia is a voluntary action. You are most welcome to do what most people do, just enjoy the picture. I'm cool with that. smile
you are awesome, vz, to pull such tenderness into a photo. the delicate touch is a good match to the warm, red color and the cool water (like tears, like tears).

to honor an offer
is (in return) to offer an honor
vz-nostalgia: :
Sera: to honor an offer is (in return) to offer an honor
VZ: ah, what a lovely thought, Ms. Sera. Do you think it's a fair trade? smile

Different and weirdly alluring
vz-nostalgia: If you want to be missed, be different. smile Don't google it, Brian. It's one of teh nostalgisms. smile
I'm in love with the poem! Nice shot!!!
vz-nostalgia: I will not rest until I hear from you: "I'm in love with the shot. Nice poem", Kavita. smile Then the circle will be closed. smile
Reading these lyrics I recognize a bit of myself in them. Funny reply to Ray's comment grin
vz-nostalgia: These are not lyrics, Ms. Delia. At least, not yet. I haven't put them on music as of yet. smile Would you like to volunteer? smile

Delia: ...I recognize a bit of myself in them.
VZ: Have you made an offer to the ghost of dawn as well? smile

vz-nostalgia: Ooops. Somehow, I completely missed to see that aspect of the picture, Ms. Sherri. smile

an artistic mean to the end...:o)
have nice time..
vz-nostalgia: an artistic mean to the end... of what, Ms. Clo?
I'm in love with shot but the love for the poem is greater!!!
vz-nostalgia: It will pass, Kavita. smile As St. Augustin once said "love is a temporary madness". smile
Could have been a mutant rhino with that horn and leathery texture.
I'll give no verse
As it will make you cursesmile

I'm a moonchild.
Dancing in the pitch black.
With my morning glory vine.
To blossom with dawn's first light.
I'm a morning moonchild.
vz-nostalgia: :
…with the first signs of dawn light
he cut the blossom of the morning glory
so she would dance forever
in the memory of his night whispers…
