vz-nostalgia: Hahaha. I was expecting poems only from the ladies... smile
Well, it is worth the risk, would you say, Louis? A few minutes of light, rather than a whole life in the dark. smile

This ladybird is emerging into the light Vik: a fine sentiment

Chris: This ladybird is emerging into the light...

l had no idea it was international woman's day. Very well expressed sentiment VZ
vz-nostalgia: smile
Zed: l had no idea it was international woman's day.
VZ: Oh, you just made a fatal mistake by admitting that, zed. smile You will have no excuse from your missus. smile
Ladybird follows the singing in the night only to discover as she nears the light that it is her own voice that is guiding her. Sometimes we carry it in our pocket, like a charm to behold now and again, a promise yet fulfilled. "Make yourself a light" said the Buddha. What better journey to wish for, Viktor. Thank you.
vz-nostalgia: :
Suzanne: What better journey to wish for...
VZ: Maybe all the charm is in teh promise of teh journey to the light, Ms. Suzanne. smile Listen to your voice, even though it will leed you astray from time to time. smile That is also a part of teh journey. smile
Is that a small lady bug in there?
vz-nostalgia: I see in addition to teh sepia glasses you need a pair of teh regular ones, Ms. Chantal. smile

It's easy to get overwhelmed and distracted on the path towards the light. I would have liked to see this one in colour.

Here in Romania woman's day was on 1 March and today we celebrate Mother's day. Thanks for the wishes. Hope all men will find their light too in all the other days of the year smile

Delia: Here in Romania woman's day was on 1 March...
VZ: I'm embarrased to admit, Ms. Delia, that I always thought that Romanian/ Moldavian Martishor (as well as Bulgarian Martenitza) is a celebration of teh beginning of spring. The red and white knitted amulets are given not only to women by men, but by women to men as well, aren't they?

Delia: Hope all men will find their light too in all the other days of the year.
VZ: Oh, that is a shot below teh waist, Ms. Delia. smile
Might be better in colour, Viktor - I didn't even see the ladybird initially!

Tom: I didn't even see the ladybird initially!
VZ: Must be time to pay a visit to teh ophthalmologist, Tom. smile
Tom: Might be better in colour, Viktor.
VZ: Could be. I just don't feel like color today. smile

Oh, a special benefit and a fine tradition on Nostalgia- blog- I wonder here hardly a person thinks of this day but the ladies in Russia are still sending greetings! Ihave some problems to discover the ladybird- but I see the light and I completely believe your words- today!
vz-nostalgia: smile
Philine: ...the ladies in Russia are still sending greetings!
VZ: smile well, on this day they receive the greetings, gifts and flowers, to be exact. smile And it is still a national holiday in Russia. smile
fantastic shot
vz-nostalgia: The fantasy is in your head, Ms. Toun. smile
Now, it's time to think about the light. smile
this is a really lovely photo...feels like quite a maze she has to navigate there wink
vz-nostalgia: not much different from what we have to navigate through nowadays, Charles. smile
The path of my light today is following the sunlight shining on the floor of my corridor with a mop and bucketsmile Thank you for the best wishessmile
vz-nostalgia: smile Now think about how dreary it would be to mop the floor without teh sunlight, Ms. Linda. smile So, stop complaining and start counting your blessings. smile
Nice wish Viktor. And very nice shot too.
vz-nostalgia: my pleasure, Francesc.
"We have dropped out of warp, and are entering the dragon nebula, Captain" smile
vz-nostalgia: smile Bet you watched too much Star Treck in your youth, Thomas. smile
"ladybug ladybug fly away home
your house is on fire and your children are alone."
if you blow a ladybug from your fingers while saying that, you get a wish.
vz-nostalgia: I'm sure they work for teh fairies, Ms. Sera. smile
Have your wishes ever come true?
wonderful image - what a brave little explorer smile
vz-nostalgia: For some reason the image came out much lighter after the upload on shutter. So, it's not exactly what I had in mind, but the idea is still here, Harry. smile

I hope your Lady buddies are happier with their destination than this Ladybird would have been, VZ...neither mates nor aphids at the light.
vz-nostalgia: smile It's true that sex and food are the main engines of progress for every living creature in this world, Ray. What separates us, human beings, is that thirst for light in our lives. So, I would assume that all my lady-buddies are happier than those, which only strive for mates and aphids. smile

well, mr VZ you were expecting a poem from the 'ladies'..here you are....wink

"as this ladybug
I will find my home
it'll be hard I know
but you know I won't stop...
many paths to reach
many ways to see
I will hear my voice
saying where to go...
deep or up or down
slow, fast, near or far
my steps just follow that star
where I'll find my heart" (K.A., 2010)

thanks for this picture and for honoring international women's day, viktor..precisely today i was reading an article about 'Dirie' a somalian woman who was brave and could finally found her way...(http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waris_Dirie) a very inspiring story, as your picture is...

...now i wonder...if there is an international 'men's day or something??.... smilelol
vz-nostalgia: smile I knew at least one lady would come up with a poem, Ms. KA. smile I had no idea you lost your heart. smile Good luck finding it, following the star. smile
There are so many brave women in this world, Ms. KA. I will read the story, when I have a minute.
Regarding the International Men's Day, I think all other days in the calendar besides the March 8, are men's days, Ms. KA. smile

Now I'd never say you're inspired by my post just because you have a lady bug going thru an opening like I had couple of posts before, right? smile
vz-nostalgia: hahaha. Of course, you would never say this, Mr. YKW. smile Because you know, it's not true. smile
