Well if you can afford to hang out with artists, you are set.
She reminds me of a cousin of mine.
This picture will do her website proud.
vz-nostalgia: Louis: Well if you can afford to hang out with artists, you are set.
VZ: It doesn't take much, Louis. Just to be crazy enough to blend in.
Louis: This picture will do her website proud.
VZ: I think it is the other way around, Louis
I was hoping for great things when I saw the thumb Victor ... But I'm very uncertain about the composition. The lady is fine. but i thing too much is crammed into the image. Having looked at the paintings on the wall and a swift browse of her site ... I'm also uncertain of of the style of painting ... Ther are certain similarities to the ubiquitous Jack Vettriano whom I find rather slick and tedious.
Not that I'm saying her work is slick ... just having a similar feel. Apologies to the lady if you know her ... but as you know a lot of art is very subjective.

vz-nostalgia: RT: But I'm very uncertain about the composition.
VZ: Damn! And I thought I nailed it in terms of composition.
RT: I'm also uncertain of of the style of painting ...
VZ: Hey, I'm not resposible for her painting style.
Regarding Vettriano... all has been already said in the world of fine arts. One can always draw a parallel between now and something in the past, be it a photograph, a poem, or a piece of music... all is a variation on a theme.
hello Mr Viktor
This is a beautiful portrait in black and white...! i love the nicely reflection in the windows..and the smile she have...
Have a very good weekend...
vz-nostalgia: Her real smile is 100 times more charming than you see it here, Ms. Clo.
VZ: It doesn't take much, Louis. Just to be crazy enough to blend in.
Louis: When you knock around with artists, someone has to afford the refreshments. If that is you, you must be set.
Louis: This picture will do her website proud.
VZ: I think it is the other way around, Louis
Louis: Her website will do your picture proud? I will have to think about that.
PS. I have many of the artist types in my extended family. Painters, actors, musician, poet and even photographers We are still missing a serious sculptor.
vz-nostalgia: When there are so many artistic people in the family, there should be at least one exception, a person on which nature takes a rest. Is that you, Louis?
I had a look at this last week and was unsure about the mood of the shot and decided not to comment. Looking again this morning I am still split. On the one hand it looks like a typical photograph of an artist at a trade fair with their work. Yet the confident pose sitting outside the booth looking in, places her in the position of observing us in her space. This for me is a strong dynamic that is quite unsettling. If it wasn't intended then this is an interesting aspect to a very theatrical pose - because in effect it is putting me off entering the space.
vz-nostalgia: It's okay not to comment, Mike. Don't feel guilty.
The photograph maybe a typical one (a typical one?), but the model is definitely not. She does look very confident and rightly so. I don't know about you, but I was not intimidated by that confident, but charming smile.
I like the reflect in tne background : her reflect becomes one of the portrait on the wall. Present is already becoming the past (the essence of photography). Really like this compo.
vz-nostalgia: You are on the right path to understanding this portrait, Ms. Aurore. So glad you do. Seriously.
Is there a link between this woman and the one on the photo on the foreground ? Don't know... You're compo is full of keys, i feel it, but i don't really want to know the truth or real story, i think i even prefer imagine my own stories thanks ! cheers
vz-nostalgia: Ms. A: Is there a link between this woman and the one on the photo on the foreground ?
VZ: Of course, there is! She painted it. Check out the link under the picture.
Ms. A: i think i even prefer imagine my own stories
VZ: That's how I'd prefer for viewers to approach all my pictures.
The artist and her work, two faces of one person, all right VZ So you perfectly catched her whole personality.
vz-nostalgia: :
Aurore: So you perfectly catched her whole personality.
VZ: No-no, Ms. Aurore. Her whole personality is much more than that. It might take a whole series of pictures to show her personality, but I'm not good at taking pictures of people. I prefer dealing with plants and bugs.
