Aerodynamics? Flight is definitely suggested.
vz-nostalgia: I absolutely failed to see her as a dynamic subject, Ms. Jamoula. Your mind works in mysterious ways. smile
I like the backlight, looks like weapons in the center.

wow that made me start. the thumbnail looks soft, romantic, gentle...and then the reality...unapproachable, go away, come close at your peril. not a bug's best friend i would imagine. what are you growing in your garden smile
vz-nostalgia: as beautiful as she is, Ms. Eliza, if she keeps scaring guys away like this, she might end up as a spinster. smile

a poetic photo taken by a poetic person- the charming, gentle dance-like movement of the blossom, the soft lighting, the contrast of clearness and blurs-veils -on the other side the sharp, dangerous looking points of aggressivity- a seductive scene indeed, and I hope 'she' (why not 'he'?) can preserve -for some time- her beauty and her pureness, her 'noli me tangere'- for everybody who would touch her, might hurt her in some way!
vz-nostalgia: when her prime is over, Ms. Philine, those aggressive spikes will be all that's left of her. smile The question is, is this the way she wants to be remembered?
What gender is a flower in German?

Her weaponery is just a sham - if you were a bee you could get right in there! This looks to me like a columbine.
Ingrid
vz-nostalgia: Is that what happens to all the beauties, Ms. Ingrid? All their causticity and sarcasm is just a sham? A cover up to protect a tender insecure soul?
Five missiles ready to be fired!
Lovely lighting and tones.
vz-nostalgia: be careful handling those gorgeous creatures, Richard. They might blow you up. smile

The photo just spells out the title....it’s amazing how this applies to lots of things in life ....very beautiful charming and attractive...Yet they can kill you....
Another thought that can cross your mind also...i have my weapons in case you thought of using my beauty...
Nice shot….thank you for including me in your group..
vz-nostalgia: you are looking right through, Ms. Marwa. You even read between the lines. That's quite impressive. smile
I trust you made it safely back to Cairo.

I love it. She's approachable all right- you just have be brave...as long as you cultivate a thick skin even if you get pricked you will not bleed too much! smile
vz-nostalgia: I see you know what you are talking about, Ms. Zhen. Do you speak from experience? Do you keep your weapons sharp and ready? smile

hmmm .... what happened to her i wonder ...
vz-nostalgia: the world was too cruel to her, I guess. She had to develop self-defensive attributes. Darwin at work? Well could be. smile

"What gender is a flower is German?"
short answer: The grammatical gender is different- very often the gender is a Femininum like "die Rose"/rose, "die "Tulpe"/tulip etc., but we have also names of flowers whose gender is Masculinum , e.g. "der Löwenzahn"/Dandelion, "der Frauenschuh"/Lady's Slipper, or Neutrum, e.g. das Maiglöckchen/Lily of the valley. The Latin botanic names have also three genders, mostly femininum though- The flowers "die Narzisse" and "die Hyanzinthe" are named after beautiful He's, young men! There is no logic, but I like to think there may be a certain affinity between flowers and female gender, although the grammatical gender is not identic with the biolgical gender! Interesting question indeed, and I like to compare the different languages and the thinking and feeling that might be hidden in them!
vz-nostalgia: what would you call a branch of linguistics that studies phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, and pragmatics of the genders of flowers? That's who you should be, Ms. Philine. smile

Now doesn't that look slightly aggressive Vik! It shouldn't really because it's only a flower...
vz-nostalgia: smile only a flower? not if you think in broader terms, Chris. smile

Would this be an aqualiga?
A dream upon awakening is there to be glimpsed and acknowledged before it retreats into the depths of our minds.
vz-nostalgia: An aqualiga? I don't know, Ms. Pixie. All I know, one wrong move and I'm dead. smile
I can't wait till time comes, when we can videorecord our dreams. Not even the best Hollywood movies can compare with what I see in my wild dreams. smile

"Don't stampede to the clitoris..." quote from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life...

Talk with her, VZ...listen...caress her trunk and stem...

Let her know you intentions...or, desires...

Perhaps she will melt a little.

Don't quit already.

When I look at the centre of the flower I cannot help but think of early graphics for space rocket design. I just wonder if this natural form was a source of inspiration. Certainly makes a great photograph, hats off to you Viktor.
vz-nostalgia: I have no access to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky's books anymore, Mike. Just have to take your word for it. smile
Beautiful BW, it's not common to have this type os close pics in BW, so congratulations.
vz-nostalgia: not common? smile you'll see all kinds of weird stuff, if you flip through my archive, Anthony. smile

The flower is a stitchiologist, or maybe the original model for a cow prodder.

Great picture and expression: 'unapproachable like a dream upon awakening'
vz-nostalgia: A cow prodder... I haven't seen this kind in any of the Hollywood cowboy movies, Louis. smile
Stitchiologist (I could barely pronouce this. gosh, Louis)... hardly more likely a specialist on making pretty scars. smile
I had a look at the lsast fe photos in your archive and I have to say they are incredibly high class shots.
vz-nostalgia: wonder what you'd say, when you look through the rest of my archive, Albert. smile
Beauty...
vz-nostalgia: ...and the beast. All in one. smile
Sometimes armoring like this is only to protect tender parts. A delicate touch, a pure and loving intention can do wonders to soften this beauty. She is not at all deadly but full of life.
vz-nostalgia: Like Zhen above, I feel you have a deep knowledge about teh subject matter, Ms. Suzanne. smile
