Lost....but soldiering on.

This is a very poignant image, which makes me think of lost souls, living on the edge of society, cast out to live in the shadows.
vz-nostalgia: ...or of voluntery slavery.
A world-weary ant. I guess we all feel a bit like this from time to time.
vz-nostalgia: Looking in the mirror of my distant past, Ian. smile
Chi fa da sè fa per 3! Hi Vic.
vz-nostalgia: at times bad luck can turn us into 8, Ms. Stef. Some bounce back, while others drag through life like pretzels. smile

vz-nostalgia: 1. You broke the rule, K.A.. Did you forget, Nostalgia is a praise-free zone? smile
2. It does help to have a strong will, but often a will is not enough. smile

Never I thought that an ant is such a elegant being, and he/she -although being fragile in comparison to other beings- is struggling for life powerfully with concentration and energy, and I know he/she will find the light, we can already see it, the end of the tunnel is coming into sight as we say- a very beautiful pic (close-up)- a kind of veneration of nature!-
If I should refer your pic to human conditions and remind of your words 'hope' and 'light', I would like to quote some lines of Bertolt Brecht:

On the bed of the Moldau the pebbles are stirring.

In Prague three emperors lie dead.

The big will not stay big, the little won't stay little.

The night has twelve hours, the dawn is ahead,

The dawn is ahead.
vz-nostalgia: Whoever designed these creatures (ants, spiders, dragonflies...) was a true genius, don't you agree, Ms. Philine? smile.
La silueta de la hormiga es perfecta. Un macro fuera de lo común y de gran calidad.
vz-nostalgia: I'm trying to work outside of the usual macro box, Enric. smile

Sometimes it's good to be alone and I like the image of solitudesmile
vz-nostalgia: I like solitude as well, Ms. Tracy, though a bit less than One Hundred Years. smile
Puts me in mind of an Ogden Nash poem

The Ant

The ant has made himself illustrious
Through constant industry industrious.
So what?
Would you be calm and placid
If you were full of formic acid?
vz-nostalgia: I see you are a big fan of unconventional poetry, Bill. smile
must say Victor the amount of quality shots to come out of your garden is bewildering, another beautiful image Victorsmile
vz-nostalgia: I guess I created a good environment for all those little creatures, Tim. They love me and willingly cooperate. smile

No, not lost, found!
vz-nostalgia: smile You are sharp as ever, Ms. Ellie. smile
I've never seen anything like this Viktor, that leaf provides an excellent backdrop, leading the viewer or the ant somewhere.
vz-nostalgia: Glad you noticed, Nig. I see the background leaf equally important to the ant in terms of composition. That's why the DOF is not that shallow. smile

Happy Birthday VZ !
You were so much older then; you're younger than that now.
vz-nostalgia: The secret is in finding that damn gear that put things in reverse, Chris. smile
Thanks for the good wishes.

Viktor, you've done it again...I think he is looking for his "Comrades" that you got rid of to take the picture. He was not abandoned, his life was spared!
vz-nostalgia: what have I done again? Killed all the comrades, except for one? smile Be careful, Rey, you might not be the one whose life I'll spare for my next shoot. smile
Great shot. makes me appreciate the form of the ant much more than if it were lit. thanks for the pause for thought.
vz-nostalgia: The clever engineering of ants' bodies amazes me as well, Darren.
You're welcome for the pause. smile
vz-nostalgia: If I knew it's your birthday, Ms. Flo, I'd post something more cheerful. smile
I see you set up your own scale. smile Usually, it's five stars, or 10 out of 10. You have a more nuanced scale of 20. smile

Magic image. I love how the lighting shows the emormity of the task at hand for the poor lost soul.
vz-nostalgia: He'll be fine. Folks like this don't give up fast. smile
great image, i like the concept, congratulations.
vz-nostalgia: smile and what kind of concept is that, Jorge? smile (just to make sure we have the same one in mind). smile
Excellent close-up Viktor. I have been trying to find a way of adding people to my buddies list so I can visit their blogs daily but can't work out how to do it sad
vz-nostalgia: while on the blog, you want to add to your buddies, click on My Account (upper right corner), hover over the plus sign next to "buddies", "add to my buddies" will pop-up. Click on the plus sign. That's it, you added this blog to you buddies. If you do the same with the plus at the likeys, you will add this particular picture to your likeys.
Hope this helps.
Brilliant! Thanks Viktor smile
vz-nostalgia: You are most welcome, Ms. Pam. smile
