Dixville notch voted by 15 to six in favour of Obama. first time since 1968 it has gone Democrat.
vz-nostalgia: Hope this small snowball grows much bigger and turns into an avalanche as it rolls though the country, Bill.

vz-nostalgia: Those inner mental walls are always a problem for so many of us, aren't they, Ms. Philine?
Actually, those fences are for keeping the sand in place from migrating due to the winds, which allows the grasses to grow, which in turn fortifies to the dunes.
Nice work.The light is perfect.
vz-nostalgia: the day was too bright for taking pictures, Enric, so it took me a while to manage the shot.

Hopefully this fence is substantial enough to keep the "mavericks" out, VZ.
vz-nostalgia: I'm not sure, Ray, they are the jumping type. They are able to jump from Alaska to Washington D.C. in no time. smile

vz-nostalgia: It must be a pretty painful experience to sit on the fence, Ms. Ingrid. smile

vz-nostalgia: Good point, Ms. Ellie. I truly believe that time will come when all divisions will be eventually buried under the sand.
You're right again, the waives from this elections will travel throughout the globe. Too much at stake here.
As well as the symbolism it has nice tones and composition.
vz-nostalgia: smile I see nothing wrong for the symbolism to have nice tones and composition, Nig. smile
This is start but almost sepia like. It could be a 19thC print. I love it!
vz-nostalgia: "almost sepia like start"... you got to explain to me this, Chris.

now that the pebbles have been counted, the sand is all that's left. or right.
vz-nostalgia: I like how you always play with words, Terry. smile

Why is this a surprise image from you, Viktor??!! Is it the place or the style? No clue but I really like it, especially the shadows.
vz-nostalgia: I have no answers on your questions, Ms. Ginnie. It's up to you, the viewer, to decide. The main thing is there is no division anymore and it's time for rebuilding our ruined to the very base country. It might take time, but yes we can. smile

Ha! Turns out the "mavericks" didn't have bounce in their step.

Wonderful outcome...
vz-nostalgia: I had tears in my eyes that night, Ray. It's been a while since I experienced that last time.
It's too early to disregard the "maverick", she tasted the nectar of power and glory and she'll do everything she can to get a revanche.
Beautiful picture, Viktor. And the color you chose for this one is just perfect.
It remainds me of a Catalan song which also "talks" about a deeply stucked fence which should be removed with the help of everybody if we want to get a better world...
vz-nostalgia: Could you find this song on YouTube, Ms. Berta? I'd love to hear it.

I think the world is a safer place today. I just hope that we do not have another Kennedy tragedy on our hands. mal

....sigh.....I read the comment of Mal, last night there was a programm, will Obama be able to last until Christmas time?
I only hope for 'us' that God has mercy.....and will prefend us from tragedy.
Strong picture.... no fences any more...Obama...a white mother and a black father, what else do we want...nothing, live in peace WITH each other....
vz-nostalgia: yes, he's a symbol of unity. But there is more to it. He might be a brand new page in American history, if only dark shadows of past (which are still plenty in this country, look, 46% voted for McCain) will not flip it back.
