Great stuff, VZ.
Evokes images of plane disasters, where what is left of the aircraft has had the skin ripped off to reveal the skeletal structure below.
vz-nostalgia: Disasters happen, Ray. Some will survive, while most are not. That's the way things are, I guess.

Our nightly dreams,
full of fragments,
broken and damaged,
but while getting combined
in a crazy, new way
they create a new time and
we now can fly -far away-
with wings, restored, unhurt,
over houses, trains and hills,
till the clock us awakes
and broken wings are lying
there we don't know where
they have come from but we pick
them up trying to patch
them up for another dream

I very like the structure and the patterns of the curled/rolled up leaves- ready for a wintersleeping- summer has gone!
vz-nostalgia: The idea of gluing together bits and pieces of our dreams into one big dream is a very interesting one, Ms. Philine. I hope one day someone will invent an apparatus that records our dreams on video and we'll be able to view them on our computers and TVs. That will be a revolution in cinematography as we know it, don't you think? smile
Summer still shows its freckled face here in Atlanta, but the presence of autumn is in the air.
I like the geometric side, lines and shadows, could have benefited from less DOF imho
vz-nostalgia: The background was too busy, that's why I chose the shallow DOF, Nig.

I love the bands and shadows. IS this a leaf?
vz-nostalgia: You bet, Scott. An early victim of upcoming fall.
An alien craft from a Sci fi film of the 50's
vz-nostalgia: I guess I missed those, Bill. I was behind the iron curtain at the time. smile
Very intriguing!!! Makes me wonder...
Great image wink

Lovely use of mono, captures the shade/light perfectly
vz-nostalgia: Isn't that one of the most important things in photography to capture the shade and light perfectly, MS. Ellie?
Looks like a leaf to me, but I am being prosaic. It is a pleasing shot and like others you've posted it reveals the affinity between nature and engineering.
vz-nostalgia: There is nothing wrong with being prosaic, Ian, as this is exactly what you see, a dead leaf that reveals its structural essence.
THis is most atmospheric Vik: I like it very much
vz-nostalgia: Some atmospheres lack breathing air, Chris. It happens when we have hard times. smile

Hey VZ.....I am a huge "lord of the rings" sort of stuff fan. Sometimes I go to this magical place in my head and I love it. That's what your image looks like right now. Amazing stuff.
vz-nostalgia: From what or who are you hiding in this secret magical place in your head, Ms. Ada? smile
you have a incredible eye for a shot Victor, superb image indeedsmile
vz-nostalgia: The simple things around us, Tim. For the most part they are being ignored. They deserve a second chance, don't you think? smile
Veri nice picture.
vz-nostalgia: what about it that you like, Emil?

...it's when they broke that I'm bound to remender that wings aren't the only things meant to fly...(The light - and, of course, the processing you've chosen for this one, really played with the shape of this vegetal wing)
vz-nostalgia: "...aren't the only things meant to fly..." I was expecting for you to develop this thought, Ms. Reis, but you suddenly stopped. smile
i like the fact that you have to look at this twice, to get what the subject is.
...no more flights through dark noght...or like the phoneix it rises from the ashes.its a question of perspective, there is always hope
vz-nostalgia: For many folks it takes more than twice, Ms. Toun. You're just lucky that you have such a perceptive soul. smile A rare thing nowadays and I'm happy for you. smile
