vz-nostalgia: My pleasure, Martin.

Hi VZ. I have a picture of a nail queued to present in about a week.
I find myself very emotionally attracted to the detail of this image...nail has penetrated the wood as though there is a very assertive sex act taking place; the rust is active and indicating a deterioration of the substance of the nail; the moss/lichen is dry, but has a firm, determined grip on life...
but the whole image is dominated by the intricate spider's web...there is more going on here than immediately hits the eye.
Wonderful image!
vz-nostalgia: Hey, I didn't rate this image as a "risqué". So, don't even go there. On other hand, that's an idea. I might sell the image to Viagra with a slogan "Old and rusty, but still can nail" smile
Good to hear from you, my friend.

Excellent colors and textures. I love the crispness of the foreground and the fade behind the nail. Yeah, it works!
vz-nostalgia: That's your first comment on my blog.
Glad it works for you, Kathryn.
Say hello to Keith Jarrett, next time he's in Koln.
very nice one!!
vz-nostalgia: In this case, stop by for more, Frank. smile

Damn, I miss you Viktor. All anyone in California does is take pictures of butterflies and unicorns. You need to come show 'em what for.
vz-nostalgia: I will, Garth. One day I will. We'll show them together what real unicorns look like. smile

Looks like a picnic table in Lilliput of Gulliver's Travels.
vz-nostalgia: That's an unusual take on it, Sam. Glad your fantasy works in all directions. It's a good sign. smile
probabaly the best ive come across today...its got all the elements that would appeal to me...
vz-nostalgia: That means we're close in spirit, Sam.

VZ! I tried to get tickets to his Oct 21st concert in Frankfurt and they are soldout! I found some on e-bay, but WOW they are pricey. Maybe as it gets closer to the date, the prices will drop. If so, I'll go and send you a picture!

Agree that the texture is great - especially since the rust on the nail head and the algae on the wood are unexpectedly similar. But, maybe it really works because the angle reveals the nail partially protruding. Were it taken straight on it would have seemed too flat. Is that the true color VZ, or did you tweak it ?
vz-nostalgia: Of course, I tweaked it, Chris. A bit of contrast adjustment, a bit of color correction...the ordinary stuff you usually do in an analog darkroom.

I love it! The scale of the picture projects the feeling of a place, and not just a lichen covered electric pole. I feel drawn to go sit under the metal tree and think.
thanks for the bright spot in a hectic day.
vz-nostalgia: You're most welcome, Kelly. At fist, I thought you said "to sit under the metal tree and drink". Not a bad idea either. smile
Totally charming. The colors are beautiful and the surprising details. This happens to my "Likeys"
vz-nostalgia: Good to hear from you, Jose.

Now this is macro photography at its best, wonderful colour combination, strong angle and dof giving us a glimpse into the unseen. Excellent.
vz-nostalgia: The pleasure is all mine, blackdog. Glad it was worth your time.
The composition is perfect and I like the colors and texture! Nice shot!
vz-nostalgia: Hello, Claude. Good to have you on Nostalgia. I'm a fan of yours.
wau........ i like the picture a lot
vz-nostalgia: Glad you like it, Mariam. Your "From" line sounds confusing. There is a state of Georgia in the US, so it looks like you're from Georgia, USA. I guess Tbilisi, Georgia/ San Francisco (or whatever city in California you are), USA will be more clear.
i am sorry. i live in CA,USA and here are to many people, originally I'm from Rep. of Georgia and it's easy to find too, it just me wink
nice shoot
vz-nostalgia: My pleasure.

Hmmm ... this is not a tack(less) image. richard
vz-nostalgia: No, it's not, Richard. As much as your comment is not a dull(less) one. smile

Ah, nailed. (that word again). Great art.
vz-nostalgia: Great art is found in museums, Ms. Eva. smile
i find very interesting the way that our life lines intersect with other people...or events...or photos...or ideas smile
vz-nostalgia: A coincidence theory once again? smile
Actually, you're right, Ms. Dori. The only difference is, I'm not interested, I'm fascinated with that. smile
